Mental Health and Wellbeing
Safeguarding, pastoral care and personal development
Our pastoral care and commitment to the well-being of every member of our community underpins everything we do at Lister Community School.
Our highly skilled pastoral team ensures that each and every one of our students is able to grow and flourish through their time at our school. The team collaborates with a wide range of external organisations to ensure that help and support are provided or clearly signposted at all times. In addition to our pastoral team, our house system ensures that students know where to get help. We also work with the Place2Be mental health charity and an NHS Educational Mental Health Practitioner who provide on-site, in-person support throughout term time.
PSHRE and SMSC Curriculum
Our PSHRE and SMSC (delivered through form time and enrichment activities) curricula focus on personal development, of which mental health is a key part. Alongside providing internal and external support and educating students, students are exposed to a wide range of resources they are able to access as and when they require these. The poster below is widely used at our school to ensure that students are able to access the support they need.
As a community, we are conscious of the financial pressures that many families are facing. An overview is provided on the poster below.
