Student Leadership
Overview
At Lister Community School, our student leadership structure is an important part of our school community and provides a variety of leadership opportunities. It is overseen by our Head Boy and Head Girl, who work alongside their deputies.
Student leaders across our school support the following activities:
- Organising and running school events
- Assemblies
- Peer mentoring
- Lunch duties
- Chairing student parliament
- Promoting a calm and tidy school environment
Our House Leadership Teams
A key part of our pastoral offering at Lister is the House System, through which we provide students with access to a vertical tutoring and support structure. Each house provides an additional sense of community within school, across year groups. Each is led by an Achievement Leader, supported by a dedicated Pastoral Manager. Student leaders work alongside senior staff to guide younger students.

Student Parliament
In addition to our Student Leadership Team we have our Student Parliament, which is comprised of:
- 5 representatives from each House (one in each year group)
- 5 representatives from Year 11
- 11 representatives from each House (one from each form)
- Senior Students
Our Student Parliament ensures that the student voice is heard and acted upon.
