Newham Community Learning

About Newham Community Learning

Newham Community Learning is dedicated to delivering an excellent, inclusive education for all young people in our community. We are the only Trust in Newham to provide all-through provision from ages 2 to 16, ensuring continuity and high-quality learning across early years, primary, and secondary education.

Across our two primary and four secondary schools, all located in the west of Newham, we educate over 5,400 children and young people and employ nearly 700 local staff, the majority of whom live within the borough.

Our education is guided by four core principles:
  • Inclusive: We meet the needs and aspirations of all students, supporting every member of our school communities.

  • Ambitious: We encourage students to aim high and achieve their full potential.

  • Caring: We foster environments where kindness, respect, and wellbeing are central.

  • Broad-ranging: We provide access to a wide and rich range of academic, cultural, and extracurricular experiences to prepare students for adult life in modern Britain.

Our work is further underpinned by shared Trust principles:
  • Supporting staff development and continuous professional learning

  • Managing resources transparently for the benefit of students

  • Listening to and responding to the views of staff, students, families, and the wider community

  • Committing to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Prioritising safeguarding for all students

  • Valuing the unique identity of each school within the Trust

  • Collaborating with partners, including the local authority, unions, and stakeholders

  • Being a responsible employer that recognises the contribution of staff as central to our success

At Newham Community Learning, we strive to ensure that every student receives a world-class education and the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
